Technology Services (TS) will be performing critical network maintenance Tuesday October 17, 2023 from 6:00 a.m. – 6:30 a.m. [COMPLETE] Details on the maintenance being performed are available below:

SYSTEMS IMPACTED: 

  • Inbound and outbound internet access 

  • GlobalProtect VPN 

REASON FOR IMPACT:

  • To ensure a secure, reliable computing environment, TS will be completing routine firmware updates on our security appliances (firewalls).

 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

  • Updates are required to address a high severity vulnerability. 

  • Impacted systems will be intermittently unavailable for short durations of time (~1-5 minutes) during the maintenance window.

REASON FOR IMPACT:

  • To ensure a secure, reliable computing environment, TS will be completing routine patch maintenance on our Puget Sound production servers.

 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

  • The university network, internet access, and wireless will NOT be affected.

  • Technology Services schedules regular maintenance windows, generally on the second Sunday of every other month, to ensure a secure, reliable computing environment.

[RESOLVED] myPugetSound & Employment Page Issues in Google Chrome Browser

myPugetSound: Unable to Access Certain Pages in Google Chrome Browser 

Resolved on Wednesday, October 5 |  5:30 p.m.


Overview

Google released an update to the Chrome browser which impacted faculty, staff, and student ability to access the HR and Finance tiles within myPugetSound. This also impacted the ability to open our Employment Opportunities page from a Google Chrome browser. TS implemented a solution that has resolved these issues. 


If you are still experiencing issues, please follow the below steps: 

  • Clear browser cache 
  • Close all open Google Chrome browser windows 
  • Re-open Google Chrome browser and try again
