[Updated 11/19/2015 3:15 pm] After extensive research and troubleshooting, we believe we’ve identified a fix for this issue, and have put in in place. Early reports are that wired internet connectivity has been fine for Mac users in Wyatt (wireless and Windows wired users were unaffected). Thank you very much for your patience.
[Original Post] We have received reports that some individuals in Wyatt have been unable to load external websites (websites that aren’t hosted here on campus). They are able to reach internal (pugetsound.edu) websites without issue. We apologize for the inconvenience, and are working to resolve this issue as quickly as possible.
[Updated 8/28/2015 2:45 pm] As of 6:00 am this morning, this issue has been resolved. Thank you for your patience!
[Original Post] We are currently experiencing an issue with the quality of service on our wired network. You may experience large (over 500 MB) downloads from Internet sites failing. These downloads can be resumed, and eventually will download successfully. We apologize for the inconvenience and are working to resolve this issue as quickly as possible.
[Updated 6:20 a.m.] the upgrade work has been completed successfully.
[Original] At 4 a.m. on Thursday, 8/13, TS staff will perform an upgrade to the campus internet link to 1 Gbps from 500 Mbps. There will be a 15-30 minute interruption of internet service during this work affecting all of campus.
Thank you for your patience as we continue to improve our internet service.
We will be doing some configuration changes to the residential internet this morning to solve some service degradation (slow internet speeds). This may cause some short drops in the residential internet during this time. This affects only the residence halls, houses, and Union Ave. fraternities and sororities; academic and administrative internet connectivity will not be affected.
[Updated 2:00 p.m.] Configurations were completed around noon, and the residential internet is returned to full service. Thank you for your patience.
