REASON FOR IMPACT: Technology Services has identified an issue with outbound calls intermittently dropping. We’ve determined that the issue is with our telephone provider, Allstream and we are waiting on an update from them regarding time to resolution. We will send an update as soon as one is available.

[Tscommunications] {Network} Planned Thomas Hall Network Outage January 10, 2019 5:00pm – 5:15pm COMPLETE

SYSTEM: Planned Thomas Hall network outage to repair malfunctioning power equipment

January 10, 2019 from 5:00pm to 5:15pm COMPLETE

REASON FOR IMPACT: Network systems and services will be offline from 5:00pm to 5:15pm in Thomas Hall this evening to replace a network card in a battery backup system. The system must be powered down to replace the network card. All networked systems will be offline for approximately 15 minutes including: wired, wireless, phones, networked security/fire equipment. Network Services was able to replace the retired equipment without taking network services offline. There was no outage.

SYSTEM: Inbound and outbound phone calls do no function

January 9, 2019 from 12:30pm to 3:00pm RESOLVED

REASON FOR IMPACT: No inbound or outbound phone calls are completing the dialing process. Callers attempting to dial in to campus may be met with no dial tone, a busy tone, or an error message. Users attempting to dial outbound will experience a busy tone. All internal calling is fully functional. No cause is known at this time. Our telephone provider identified and isolated an issue and resolved it by about 12:45pm and continued working to monitor the situation. We’ve been notified that the issue is completely resolved.
