Network: Planned Wireless Outage

Wednesday, February 19 at 5 a.m.-5:30 a.m.

REASON FOR IMPACT: Technology Services is updating the wireless network. Connecting to the campus and guest network via a wireless device will not work during the maintenance window. Hard wired devices such as desk phones, desktops, card access to the buildings, and elevator emergency phones will not be impacted.

\Stafffiles: Instructions for Accessing StaffFiles/Network Shares After Recent Upgrade

Tuesday December 17 @ 7:30 a.m.

REASON FOR IMPACT: Technology Services (TS) migrated the file server wnfs03 [//StaffFiles] to a new server. If someone is not able to access files, connect to //stafffiles or connect to a network share on a Windows machine, Technology Services suggests taking the following steps:

1) Click the Start Menu, type "cmd", right click on "Command Prompt" and click "Run As Administrator"

2) In the new window, type: "ipconfig /flushdns" (without the quotes) then hit "Enter" on your keyboard

3) If that does not work, please restart your computer

4) You can also try re-mapping your network share: https://www.pugetsound.edu/files/resources/mapping-to-a-network-share-2.pdf

REASON FOR IMPACT: Technology Services has noticed intermittent issues with Internet/Network connectivity. Some users may have experienced issues connecting to the internet. Our vendor for network connectivity experienced a short outage and the issue has been stabilized. The vendor has engineers investigating the cause.

Storage Area Network: System Maintenance

Saturday, November 23 from 8:30 a.m.–12 p.m.  

REASON FOR IMPACT: Technology Services needs to apply a software fix to our primary storage array to resolve a bug encountered early this week.  While the update is running some services could run slower than usual but no outages are expected. Our Storage Area Network (SAN) provides the back end storage for most applications run by Technology Services.
