Wednesday, August 5th, 7PM to Midnight

REASON FOR IMPACT: Technology Services will be performing a Phone/VOIP system upgrade to improve system reliability.
 
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
  • Phones and analog converters will be remotely rebooted; reboots generally take between 1-5 minutes.
  • While phones are being rebooted they will not be functional and calls may get dropped.
  • Devices will re-register and eventually come back online.
  • Devices connected to analog convertors, such as fax machines, will also temporarily go offline as the convertors are rebooted.
  • If you are logged into a Soft phone session via Jabber, you will need to logout and re-login.

REASON FOR IMPACT: Technology’s Services needs to update myPugetSound and PeopleSoft Campus Solutions to a more recent version so we have a secure and reliable environment. myPugetSound and PeopleSoft Campus Solutions will still look and feel the same as it did prior to the planned maintenance.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

·         If you have issues connecting to myPugetSound or PeopleSoft Campus Solutions after the planned maintenance please try clearing your browser cache.

·         PeopleSoft Campus Solutions Menu – The blue menu bar has slightly changed to include a navigator icon in the upper right hand area of the screen. If you login often directly to PeopleSoft Campus Solutions and have pages set as a “Favorite” you can now access those by following the below steps:  

o    Select “Personalize Content”

o    Select “menu” in pop out message

o    View “my favorites” on left hand side of the screen

o    To access all other pages utilize the new “navigator icon” in upper right hand side of the page.

Update: The wireless outage was due to bad configuration applied by one of our vendors.  We have reverted the change and wireless has been restored.

NETWORK: Phone/VOIP System Upgrade

July 15th, 2020 – 7PM to Midnight

SYSTEMS IMPACTED:  All VOIP Services on campus will be affected including, desk phones, walls phones, and all devices that use VOIP analog converters such as Fax machines, elevator phones, security systems and emergency towers.

REASON FOR IMPACT: Technology Services will be performing an upgrade to the phone system increase stability, reliability and interoperability with our phone system. This maintenance will cause short intermittent downtime to phone/VOIP services (typically less than 5 minutes) around campus between 7PM and Midnight.


ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

·        In the event that we have a longer than anticipated outage, we will send out an update

·        All phone/VOIP services will experience intermittent down time as we migrate phones and VOIP devices to new servers.  While the migration of these phones will not take long (usually less than 5 minutes as the phones and devices reboot) we will need to do testing and verification during the full maintenance window.

SYSTEMS IMPACTED:  All Network services will be impacted in Library including VOIP and Wireless.

 

REASON FOR IMPACT: There is currently an issue with some devices going offline that require power over Ethernet (POE) such as Access points for wireless.  To address this issue, Technology Services will be performing a software upgrade and reboot of all the switches in the Library to increase network stability, reliability and interoperability. This maintenance will cause intermittent downtime to all network services and Internet access for periods of 15-30 minutes as the switches are loaded with new firmware and are rebooted.

 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

In the event that we have a longer than anticipated outage, we will send out an update.

All network services including phones/VOIP, remoting into computers or accessing resources (ie cameras) in Library via the VPN or from other areas on campus will not function
