Notice – Ongoing Service Interruption due to AWS Outage

Technology Services (TS) is aware of ongoing issues affecting several cloud-hosted systems used by the campus community. The issues are the result of an Amazon Web Services (AWS) outage that began on October 20, 2025 at 12:11 a.m. Though the issues with many AWS services have been mitigated, some services continue to be impacted and are in the process of being restored.

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW:

  • Most impacted systems are accessible and you may not experience any issues.

Email: Emailing Alumni email accounts from a pugetsound.edu address

Started September 19 


There is a known issue with emails going from pugetsound.edu accounts to alumni.pugetsound.edu email addresses.  We are investigating the cause and working with Microsoft to resolve the issue. 


Additional information: 

  • Only emails from pugetsound.edu accounts going to Alumni accounts are affected 
  • Alumni can still email pugetsound.edu email accounts
  • Alumni can still send and receive emails from all other external sources
