Network Maintenance – 03/16/2017 [COMPLETE]

UPDATE:  Network maintenance is now complete.

Networking will again be doing a maintenance tonight starting approximately at 6 PM and going until around 12 AM mid-night.

We will be finishing work in the following areas:

  • N. Lawrence Street homes
  • N. Alder Street homes
  • 11th/12th/13th Street homes

During our maintenance there will be intermediate network outages that will impact things such as wireless, internet, amd VOIP.

Papercut Upgrade, Printing downtime [COMPLETE]

We will be upgrading Papercut on our print server beginning at 6 AM on Friday 2/24/17. Printing services will be unavailable during this time.  Printing services should be restored by 8 AM.

****UPDATE****

The PaperCut upgrade was successful and printing is back online.  There is a small delay with the ability to add credit to users, we expect that to be working again in the next 3 hours.

The ability for users to purchase printing credits is functioning properly now.  The Papercut upgrade is complete and functioning fully.

 

Intermittent Internet Outage – 2/12/2017 [Resolved]

UPDATE: K20 has completed their maintenance.  There should be no further disruptions to internet traffic.

K20 is conducting a planned firmware upgrade on their core routers to patch a software bug.  Outage will be intermittent (less than 10 minutes) between the hours of 8 AM and 10 AM.

We will update this post once we get confirmation the K20 has completed their work.

On 2/12/2017 from 8am to 5pm, Network Services will be doing maintenance in the following buildings:

Jones
Howarth
Weyerhaeuser
Wyatt
Fieldhouse

Network services including data, wireless and VOIP will be unavailable for periods of 15-30 minutes in each building throughout the day.

This work is necessary for to improve network connectivity through-out the campus.

TS Outage Update: PeopleSoft Planned Refreshes

This is a status update from Technology Services about our scheduled PeopleSoft Maintenance Refreshes 

  • The following environments have been refreshed and are online:
    • PA91DEV, CS90DEV, FN92DEV, HR92DEV
    • PA91TST, FN92TST, HR92TST
  • Please note that the CS90TST environment remains unavailable as TS completes the refresh.

TS will communicate once CS90TST is complete.

Email Upgrade and Pre-Production Patch Maintenance 10/12/14 [completed]

[Updated 10/12/2014, 8:40 am ] The email services upgrade, was unsuccessful and was rolled back to before the upgrade started this morning.  All other server updates have been completed, and services affected are back online.

[Original post] An upgrade to the campus email system and patch maintenance on the pre-production servers are scheduled for Sunday, 10/12/14, from 3 a.m. to noon.

Email services will be disrupted during the upgrade which involves updating the theme on the sign-in page for Webmail, also known as Outlook Web Access or OWA.

Other services, such as Cascade and PeopleSoft, individual and departmental file shares, and web services (Moodle, vDesk, the university’s website, etc.), should NOT be affected.

The maintenance window will include security SSL updates to some production servers, but most services should not be affected as part of that process.

Turnitin Unavailable in Moodle 11/2/13 [Completed]

[Updated] The maintenance was completed as planned and full access to Turnitin within Moodle is now restored.

[Original Post] Turnitin, a plugin service in Moodle, may be intermittently unavailable during a scheduled maintenance period on Saturday, November 2, from 7:00 to 11:00 a.m. Instructors are encouraged to modify assignment due dates either before or at least several hours after the scheduled maintenance window. Cascade and Email Unavailable Due to Maintenance 10/13/2013 [Completed]

[Updated 10/13/13 10:05 a.m.] Maintenance is completed and Cascade and email service are restored.

[Resolved] vDesk Unavailable 11/27/2011

[Updated 4:37 p.m.] vDesk was restored to service at about 4:15 PM.

vDesk is currently unavailable due to some problems encountered during the scheduled maintenance. The problem began at about 1:30 PM. We are currently working to restore service as soon as possible. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Soundnet Service Interruptions [Update]

Service issues in regards to Soundnet are not expected to be resolved this afternoon. Soundnet will continue to experience intermittent technical difficulties until a full resolution is in place. We appreciate your patience during this time and are working on restoring full service as soon as possible.
