Micros Server Adjustments
The Micros server, which controls the cash registers in the CBORD One-card system, ran out of disk space on the C: drive, causing serveral services to crash. This in turn caused the cash registers to go offline.
The pagefile was split among the C: and D: drives in the folowing manner: 500 MB on C: and 1 GB on D:, and serveral temp files and an old log file were deleted.
The NT backup was moved from 3:30 AM to 2:30 AM, because it was not finishing before opening time for the cafe and diner.

Webmail Slowness Solved
HERMIONE had an unusually high CPU utilization (100%), and has for the past few days. This caused response times on Webmail become extrememly long, and the machine in general to become unresponsive. This was apparently caused by the presence of two FlexLM processes on the machine. Paul Monaghan gave me the history of this – he changed versions and apparently the old version did not get disabled.
Paul disabled the old version, and CPU utilitzation returned to more reasonable levels. Webmail response times lowered dramatically.
Best Alarm and Video Systems Restored
Measures taken against the Nachi worm, namely the blocking of TCP ports 135 and 139, caused the Best Lock and Video monitoring systems to fail. Apparently, theses systems use these ports to communicate with the Lenel Communication Server Process.
The blocks were lifted and the Communication Server was restarted, which restored the connection.
Majordomo down
Majordomo is down. Majordomo, the software package used for user discussion lists has failed after working without an error for almost two week on the new mail server. For some unknown reason the software now fails to function properly. We have attempted to upgrade with no success. We have attempted to roll back to the old server, but no luck.
New Mail Server Hardware install
Listservs are now available.
Charon slow response addressed
