[Original] Campus internet service will be unavailable during the morning of Friday, October 30th from 4 to 6 a.m. This outage is necessary to perform testing on the maximum performance of our internet link.

Internet unavailable Thursday 10/22/2015n 4:00 a.m. to 5:30 a.m. [Cancelled]

[Updated 6:18 a.m.] the internet returned to service at 6 a.m. The testing is complete for today.

Internet Unavailable 5-6 a.m 9/17/2015 [Completed]

[Updated 5:36 a.m., 9/17] The icampus internet returned to service at about 5:20 a.m. Update work  is complete. We were successful in increasing the bandwidth on the connection to 5 Gbps.

[Original] The campus internet connection will be unavailable from 4:00 a.m. to 5:00 a.m. Thursday, 9/17 as we continue work begun last Friday morning  (see to upgrade bandwidth from 1 to 5 Gbps.

Internet Unavailable Due to 5 Gbps Upgrade 4-6 a.m. 9/11/2015 [Complete]

[Update 6:27 a.m., 9/11/2015] Internet service was restored a 6:04 a.m. after an outage of 1 hour, 50 minutes. Due to issues with some non-Puget Sound equipment, the upgrade was cancelled, and Puget Sound’s internet bandwidth remains at 1 Gbps.

[Original] Campus internet service will be unavailable from 4-5 a.m. the morning of Friday, 9/11/2015 as we upgrade service from 1 Gbps to 5 Gbps. Service may also be sporadic from 5-6 a.m. The internet will resume normal operation by 6 a.m.

Internet interruption between 5:30 – 6:00 a.m. 8/28/215 [Completed]

[Update 7:15 a.m.] Internet service was restored at 6:05 a.m. after an outage of 7 minutes. The equipment upgrade was completed successfully. We are currently testing to determine whether this has resolved the issue noted below.

[Original] Internet service will be interrupted for 10-15 minutes between 5:30 and 6:00 a.m. on Friday morning, August 28th. TS staff will be upgrading some network equipment on the internet link in order to solve this issue:

Brief Internet Interruption between 6 and 6:30 a.m. 8/26/2015 [Completed]

[Updated 6:29 a.m.]  The work has been completed. Service interruption was less than 10 sec.

[Original] Internet service will experience a brief interruption of less than 5 min between 6 and 6:30 a.m. on the morning of Wednesday, August 26th as we remove some outdated network equipment.

VPN Downtime 8/24/2015 [Completed]

[Updated 11:45] The VPN returned to service at 11:30 a.m. Thank you for your patience.

[Orginal] At 11 a.m., the VPN may experience interruption and may be unavailable for approximately 30 minutes. TS staff need to do some emergency testing to troubleshoot an issue with the university’s Internet connection.

The VPN will return to nominal service at approximately 11:30 a.m.

Interruption of Campus Internet Service 8/13/2015 [Completed]

[Updated 6:20 a.m.] the upgrade work has been completed successfully.

[Original] At 4 a.m. on Thursday, 8/13, TS staff will perform an upgrade to the campus internet link to 1 Gbps from 500 Mbps. There will be a 15-30 minute interruption of internet service during this work affecting all of campus.

Voicemail System Interrupted 8-10 p.m. 5/5/2015 [completed]

[Updated 5/5/15 9:155 p.m.] Service has been restored.

This evening from 8-10 p.m., TS staff will need to perform some urgent maintenance on the voicemail system. During this time the following services will have sporadic or no availability:

  • Voicemail (reaching voicemail will result in a busy signal)
  • Automated answering messages such as out of office messages
