[Original Post] We are working to address the current service issues with the wireless network that are being experienced campus-wide.  Users are reporting the inability to connect to the wireless network or, if they are able to connect, experiencing speed issues.  We realize this is very frustrating, and we apologize for the inconvenience.  Thank you so much for your patience.

Diversions Wireless Issues 9/18/13 [Resolved]

[Original Post] We are working to address the current service issues with the wireless network in high traffic areas, particularly in Diversions Cafe and the Murray Boardroom in Wheelock Student Center. Users are reporting the inability to connect with the wireless or, if they are able to connect, being unable to access the Internet. We realize this is very frustrating, and we apologize for the inconvenience. We hope to resolve these issues soon and will post updates as we have them. Thank you so much for your patience!

StudentFiles Server Issue 9/17/13 [Resolved]

[Updated 12:59 p.m.] The StudentFiles server has been refreshed which should resolve the types of issues reported earlier. Please contact the Technology Service Desk at 253.879.8585 or servicedesk@pugetsound.edu if you experience any further problems. Thank you!

[Original Post] Some students and faculty have reported issues accessing their files on the StudentFiles server (aka Alexandria). This has also affected students who were using vDesk applications to access files on that server.

We are looking into the issue and hope to have a resolution shortly. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience.

Scheduled Wireless Maintenance 9/13/13 [Completed]

[Updated 9/13/13, 4:47 a.m.] The maintenance was completed at 4:45 a.m., and wireless network service was restored.

[Original Post] We will be applying a software update to our wireless network controllers Tuesday, 9/13,  between 4:00 and 5:00 a.m. The wireless network will be unavailable while we conduct this necessary maintenance. Thank you.

Password Synchronization Issue 8/26/2013 [Resolved]

[Original Post] Password synchronization is currently not functional. Password changes made in Cascade will not carry over to other Puget Sound systems (email, PeopleSoft, vDesk, Moodle). We are working to resolve this as quickly as possible and apologize for the inconvenience.

Email Service Announcement

Preparation for an upgrade of our email server began this week Monday, August 12. Since then, some members of the campus community have unexpectedly experienced difficulty accessing their email, calendar, or Out of Office functionality.

We apologize for any problems or inconvenience this has caused. We are working to make this transition as seamless as possible and to identify and resolve any issues that arise along the way. Production Server Patch Maintenance 8/11/2013 [Completed]

[Update]  Production Server Patch Maintenance has been completed.

[Original] The Production Server Patch Maintenance is scheduled for 8/11/2013.  Most services may be intermittently or entirely unavailable, including:  Email, Personal and departmental file shares (on Alexandria and Merlin2), Webservices such as www.pugetsound.edu, Mahara and Moodle, Print Services, and the Optimize HR Production servers and services.

Enrollment Data Issue 7/26/13 [Resolved]

[Updated 7/26/13 4:40 p.m.] The enrollment data in PeopleSoft has been restored and all dependent information, including student schedules and class rosters, should be accurate. If you encounter any issues, please contact the Technology Service Desk at 253.879.8585 or servicedesk@pugetsound.edu. We apologize for any inconvenience you may have experienced this afternoon, and we wish everyone a happy weekend!

[Updated 7/26/13 3:00 p.m.] We are making good progress in restoring the enrollment data but do not expect a complete resolution of this issue until the end of business today. We’ll post a further update once this issue is resolved. Thank you again for your patience.

[Original Post] All enrollment data in PeopleSoft is currently unavailable. Network and Phone Outage in McIntyre 7/15/13 [Resolved]

[Updated 7/15/13, 11:10 a.m.] All services have been restored to McIntyre Hall. Work continues to provide a permanent solution to the power problem that occurred. If you experience any further issues, please contact the Technology Service Desk at 253.879.8585 or servicedesk@pugetsound.edu.

[Original] Due to a minor, unexpected power outage in McIntyre Hall, network and phone service is currently unavailable in the building. Due to the impact on the university’s server room located in McIntyre, other services across campus may be affected. We are working to restore power and full services to McIntyre as quickly as possible. Thank you for your patience!

Scheduled Maintenance 7/14/2013 [Completed]

[Update] Pre-Production Server Patch Maintenance completed 11:08 am, 7/14/2013

Pre-Production Server Patch Maintenance is scheduled for Sunday, 7/14/2013, from 3 a.m. to noon. This should not affect any production services such as email, personal and departmental file shares, database applications, or web services (Moodle, Print Services, vDesk). Email System Maintenance 6/24/13 [Completed]

Maintenance work on the university’s email system is scheduled for Monday, June 24, from 10:00 p.m. to midnight. This work is required to prepare for our upgrade to Exchange 2013 later this year. Members of the Puget Sound community should not experience any disruption in their university email service.
