REASON FOR IMPACT: Customers experienced issues logging in to PeopleSoft Campus due to database contention that resolved itself. Technology Services will continue to monitor the system.

SYSTEMS IMPACTED:  

·       DEV Refreshes:

o   Impact: The following PeopleSoft DEV environments will be unavailable [PA91DEV, CS92DEV, FN92DEV, HR92DEV]

o   Duration: Thursday, November 29th all day

·       TST Refreshes:

o   Impact: All PeopleSoft TST environments will be unavailable [PA91TST, CS92TST, FN92TST, HR92TST]

o   Duration: Friday, November 30th all day

 

REASON FOR IMPACT: Refreshing our databases is part of our standard practices to maintain a reliable environment.

REASON FOR IMPACT: Technology Services is continuing to investigate an intermittent issue with our DHCP server which may prevent some users from connecting to a campus internet connection. As part of remediating this issue, Technology Services will be restarting the server on Wednesday morning.

·         After the maintenance window, if you have difficulty connecting your device to a campus internet connection please wait a few minutes and try again. If waiting a few minutes does not resolve the issue please contact the TS Service Desk for additional support.

REASON FOR IMPACT: Technology Services is continuing to investigate an intermittent issue with our DHCP server. We have initiated a support call with Microsoft regarding our issue. In the meantime, we will continue to monitor the server and take action as needed to resolve any issues that develop.

REASON FOR IMPACT: Technology Services has resolved an issue with our DHCP server which was causing computer login issues for computers on campus. If you were experiencing issues logging on to your computer, please restart your computer and try again. The issue was caused by high CPU usage on our DHCP and our team is currently investigating the cause of this issue.

REASON FOR IMPACT: Technology Services is investigating an issue in the Smith and Oppenheimer residence halls. Currently both buildings are experiencing a network and phone outage. Wireless and wired (Ethernet) connections to the Internet are not available. We will provide an update as soon as one is available. Note that this is only impacting those two buildings; all other areas on campus will have available wireless and phone access.

{Login System} Domain Controller Maintenance, October 22, 8:00 p.m. – Ongoing

INCIDENT UPDATE: Technology Services encountered an issue with our earlier maintenance on this domain controller. As a result we are extending our maintenance window on this server and are working to bring it back online as soon as possible. The issue we encountered with the domain controller impacted myPugetSound for a few hours, although TS was able make myPugetSound accessible again as of 11:15 p.m. At this time the maintenance we are performing on this domain controller should have little to no impact on campus systems.

REASON FOR IMPACT: Technology Services is restarting one of our four domain controllers during this maintenance window to remove an application related to our former Cascade system that is no longer needed. There should be little noticeable impact to our Puget Sound applications. However, if you attempt to login to a Puget Sound site or service during this time and you have difficulty, wait for a few minutes and try again.

myPugetSound: Portal Inaccessible – RESOLVED

Monday, October 22, 2018 from 8:30 p.m. to 11:15 p.m.

REASON FOR IMPACT: Technology Services has resolved the issue that was impacting myPugetSound. Our work earlier this evening on a domain controller had a direct impact on a login mechanism used by myPugetSound. TS was able to make an update to myPugetSound to bypass the domain controller that is being worked on and you should be able to log in to myPugetSound. As a next step, TS will evaluate our options to increase redundant access to our login systems from myPugetSound.
