NETWORK: Firewall Maintenance

Sunday, September 29, 2019 from  2 p.m.-5 p.m.

REASON FOR IMPACT: To ensure a secure, reliable computing environment Technology Services will be performing maintenance on our firewall during this timeframe. These firewalls help prevent unauthorized users from accessing the campus network. Because of redundant firewalls there will be minimal downtime of the network that lasts only a few seconds as we switch between the primary and secondary firewalls. Users may experience momentary drops in internet service during this maintenance window.

Devices impacted include phones, computers, printers, card access to the building, elevator emergency phone, and any other network devices. Note that this is only impacting Howarth Hall; all other areas on campus will have available wireless and phone access.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

·         Campus members needing access to Howarth Hall during the maintenance window should call security at 253.879.3311.

·         The elevator in Howarth Hall will not be available during the maintenance window due to the emergency phone not being available for use.
