Spotify Wrapped

Spotify wrapped is rolling around the corner and if you are like thousands of listeners, you’ve been waiting for this all year. When thinking about Spotify and why it is so competitive in the music streaming industry, the biggest idea that came to my mind was its focus on user experience. If you don’t know what Spotify wrapped is, it is a one-a-year in-depth wrap-up of each user’s listening history and has become very popular over the past few years. Each year there are new features added to each user Spotify wrapped portfolio. Each user gets information on their total music listening time, number of times each song is played, most played songs, audiobook and podcast streaming time, a custom playlist, and much more.

One of the biggest reasons Spotify wrapped has become so popular in recent years is it allows the ability to share listening history with friends and family. Due to the fact Spotify wrapped is every changing, it creates a lot of anticipation for users as people want to connect with others’ listening habits as well as showcase their own individuality. Spotify was one of the first companies to implement this and has increased its domination in the music streaming industry since.  Other companies, like YouTube Music, are following in suite trying to add more user experiences to their platforms. Spotify wrapped is a great example of adding creative features to help make a product more appealing for consumers and help drive their growth. I know it hooked me and I’m really looking forward to receiving my Spotify wrapped in the coming weeks.
