Welcome to a new initiative from the Economics department: the Logger Economics Alumni Network, or LEAN!
LEAN is here to support current University of Puget Sound economics students who are looking for guidance on their graduate school or future employment plans. The network includes Econ department alumni who have
- studied graduate-level economics, in PhD, MSc, and MA programs around the world;
- conducted graduate studies in finance, law, and environmental economics;
- jobs in the private sector (financial analyst, consultant), government (at the Bureau of Labor Statistics), and in non-profit economics research.
LEAN utilizes a LinkedIn group to provide an open forum for asking questions about post graduation life. The Economics department faculty also has a list of alumni who are here to help. We want you current students to have an alum to talk to, ask questions to, and help you discover the right path for you after graduation!
If you are a current student who wants to participate in LEAN:
- join our LinkedIn group by connecting with Professor Andrew Monaco and asking for an invite to the group;
- reach out to an economics faculty member or your economics advisor to help connect you to an alumnus who shares your interests.
If you are an alumnus who wants to participate in LEAN:
- join our LinkedIn group by connecting with Professor Andrew Monaco and asking for an invite to the group;
- reach out to Professor Andrew Monaco to contribute to our list of alumni who are here to provide advice and mentorship to current Puget Sound economics students.
We are proud of the work we do in Economics at the University of Puget Sound. Studying economics can provide you with a flexible toolset to solve problems in the world – but how exactly do our graduates use that toolset? Join LEAN and learn more!
