The next production maintenance window is Sunday, April 24th, from 8:00 am to noon.

On Sunday March 27th from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM the following production servers may be intermittently unavailable due to maintenance:

Services Affected:
Cascade, Banner, Bosscops, Bosscars, Surveys, Apex, Kronos, Sharepoint, Food Services Suite, and possibly XenApps.

[Completed] Telephone Maintenance Scheduled for Friday 3/11/11

[Updated 3/11/11 4:30 AM] Maintenance has been completed and telephone service has been restored.

The university’s telephone system will be disabled at 5:00 AM on Friday, March 11, in order to conduct routine maintenance. Service will be restored by 5:30 AM. [Resolved] University Web Servers Down 3/8/11

Beginning at 6:50 AM, the university’s web servers went down, and the university’s website, listservs, and Moodle learning management system became unavailable. All services have now been restored.

E-mail Service Affected by Increase in Spam 3/4/2011

A marked increase in spam activity has impacted Puget Sound’s e-mail system today. Members of the campus community may experience slow delivery of messages sent from a Puget Sound account to other e-mail systems such as Comcast, Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo, etc.

We are working to restore normal service levels as quickly as possible. Thank you for your patience!

The next production maintenance window is Sunday, March 27th, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

From 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM, all services may be intermittently or entirely unavailable, including:

  • E-mail
  • Database Applications: Cascade, FAMIS, Millennium, and Banner
  • Web services such as www.pugetsound.edu, cs.pugetsound.edu, and Moodle
  • Personal and departmental file shares (on Alexandria and Merlin2)

[Update 2/22/11 6:37 AM] Maintenance is completed and all services have been restored.

Some Puget Sound online services, including Cascade, Banner, pugetsound.jobs, LoggerJobs, and the Online Service Desk may be temporarily disrupted between 5:30 and 6:00 AM on Tuesday, February 22, as required maintenance is performed.

[Update 2/8/11 6:31 AM] Maintenance is completed and all services have been restored.

The university’s online services may be temporarily disrupted between 5:00 and 6:00 AM on Tuesday, February 8, as required maintenance is performed. During this time, intermittent outages may occur with such services as Internet connectivity, e-mail, Cascade, Banner, Famis, Kronos, Sequoia, VPN, and others.

[Resolved] Residential Internet Service Disruption 2/4/11

[Update 2:56 PM] Internet service has now been restored to residential buildings. Thank you.

Internet service to all university residential buildings is currently unavailable due to a major fiber cut on the network of our service provider, Integra Telecom. Integra is working to restore service as quickly as possible, and we are looking at ways to mitigate the situation locally. We will post updates as we have them.

This outage does not affect Internet service to the university’s academic and administrative buildings.
