After resolution of the campus Internet issue, the Music and Facilities buildings’ Internet connection was not restored automatically. Internet was restored to these buildings at 12:30 pm.
The new “PS-GuestAccess” wireless network has been deployed campus wide for visitors to the campus with no Pugetsound login. It will allow clients out to the internet with no authentication or compliance auditing.
All campus wireless clients except “PS-GuestAccess” are now monitored by SafeConnect.
A few wireless connection issues have been observed. We observed an issue that has been resolved. If you experienced some occational problems connecting to the wireless, that problem should now be resolved.
10/10/2009 The Aruba wirless controller was upgraded and additional new licensing applied starting at 4:30am. The controller was rebooted at 5:20am. The process is complete at 5:30am. Monitoring until 6:00am shows all access points are functioning properly.
[Update 5/29/2009 7:34 AM] Power, network and wireless service have all been restored.
The power was unexpectedly cut to the fieldhouse this morning at 6:00 AM. The campus network and wireless server are unavailable off-line until power is restored.
The wireless network has been sporadically unavailable since late last night, January 22, due to equipment malfunction. We are working with the vendor to resolve the problem and have no estimates on a resolution time. This affects most areas of campus, except Regester Hall and the Library stack areas.
[Update 1/23/09 @ 7:00 pm] With temporary solution in place, all tests show connectivity is restored. If you experience any wireless connectivity problems, please contact the Helpdesk.
Some users were not getting IP addresses when connecting to Aruba Wireless. This was do to a shortage of IP addresses in DHCP. I expanded the scope on Saturday to make more IP addresses available. This problem should not reoccurr.
We will be working to upgrade the Aruba wireless network on Friday 08/08/08 from 10:00am-12:00pm. We expect to have 2-3 short outages (5-10min duration) during this time. Please be prepared for these short intermittent loss of connectivity during this time. Thank you for your understanding.
We have deployed wireless throughout Jones Hall. It is currently active and available to users.
Complete wireless coverage of Wyatt Hall is now in place.
We have now deployed wireless coverage throughout the entire building at McIntyre Hall. We believe we have good coverage to all rooms and auditoriums within the building.
The Aruba wireless controller, which currently provides wireless service to access points in Harned Hall, was upgraded to ArubaOS 3.1 from version 2.5.3. The upgrade was performed at 10:00, and took approximately 10 minutes to complete.
