The instance of blogs.pugetsound.edu has been moved to a new server and upgraded to the latest version of WordPress. Users can now access their blogs using their current Puget Sound login ID. Due to the nature of the upgrade from version 3.0.2 to 3.5.1, some themes used previously are not compatible with the new version. We will work closely with site administrators to ensure a smooth transition and select appropriate themes that will work. Scheduled Brief Network Outage 3/19/13 [Completed]
[Completed 3/19/2013 6:30 AM] The work was completed with minimal interruption in service.
[Original] There will be a 5-10-second interruption for all campus network services at 6:00 AM Tuesday, 3/19/13.
TS staff will be replacing a component of a key network device as a result of the campus network outage this past weekend.

Due to the network outage tonight, Voicemail service is unavailable. Technicians are working on the problem at this time.
Campuswide Network Outage 3/16/2013 [Resolved]
At about 10:30 PM Saturday night, the Cisco 6509E switch software crashed, causing a campus-wide network failure. All services were affected. The switch was rebooted at about 10:55 PM, which restored the network.

K20 Internet Outage
K20 has notified us that their connectivity issue has been resolved.

Our K20 Internet provider for all of our academic buildings suffered a major outage affecting multiple sites across the state.
We have recovered from the majority of the impact, but some sites are still unavailable on the internet.
They are working on the problem, but do not have an estimated time of repair.

The Production Server Patch Maintenance has been completed. There is no scheduled patch maintenance for the months of April and May.
The production server patch maintenance is scheduled for Sunday, 3/10/2013, from 3:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Most services may be intermittently or entirely unavailable, including:
- Personal and departmental file shares (on Alexandria and Merlin2)
- Database applications that include Cascade
- Web services such as Moodle
- vDesk
- Print Services
Note: The Optimize servers are excluded from this Server Patch Maintenance Window.
An update will be posted once server maintenance has been completed. Also as a reminder of Sunday being Day Light Savings time, of Springing forward one hour.

During this maintenance window, you will experience some brief service interruptions on the Integra (ResNet) internet service.

[Completed] 5-10-minute Interruption in Internet Service 2/22/2013
Update: 6:10 am. The replacement was completed without incident at 5:40 am. All services are online.
The Internet connection for university servers and the academic/administrative networks will be interrupted for 5-10 minutes between 5:30 and 6:00 AM Friday morning, while a faulty firewall device is replaced.
This outage will affect all outward-facing university services, but will will not affect the residential networks.
