Campus Systems Unavailable Due to Scheduled Maintenance 05/21/2017 [completed]

[original] Production server patch maintenance is scheduled for Sunday, May 21st, from 3:00 a.m. until noon. During this time, all campus systems will be intermittently or entirely unavailable. Affected services include the university website, myPugetSound, PeopleSoft, Cascade, Moodle, campus file servers, and Exchange (email and calendar). An update will be posted once this maintenance is completed.

Technology Services schedules regular maintenance windows, generally on the second Sunday of every month, to ensure a secure, reliable computing environment. Thank you for your patience as we conduct this important work!

Pre-Production Server Patch Maintenance 04/09/2017 [Completed]

[Update 04/09/2017 1:05 PM] Our planned maintenance has been completed.

[Original] Pre-Production Server Patch Maintenance is scheduled for Sunday, 04/09/2017, from 8 am. to 5 pm. This should NOT affect any production services such as email, individual and departmental file shares, database applications, or web services (Moodle, vDesk, etc.). We will be doing network maintenance on 04/05/2017 from 6 PM to 12 AM mid-night.  The following areas will be affected:

  • Security Office
    • Additionally doing work on this house will affect the following homes:
      • 1408/1414 N. Alder
  • Student Dev. (3209 N. 15th)
    • Additionally doing work on this house will affect the following homes:
      • 1506/1514/1520/1604/1608 N. Alder
      • 3207/3211/3212 N. 17th
      • Sculpture House

There will be intermittent outages that will affect all data services including internet, VOIP and wireless.

NETWORK MAINTENANCE – 03/23/2017 [COMPLETE]

UPDATE:  Maintenance has been completed.

Networking will again be doing a maintenance tonight starting approximately at 6 PM and going until around 12 AM mid-night.

We will be finishing work in the following areas:

  • Weyerhaeuser
  • Union Ave Tunnel (this will also affect homes on N. Union Ave, N. Washington, and Greek Row.

During our maintenance there will be intermediate network outages that will impact things such as wireless, internet, and VOIP.

Campus Systems Unavailable Due to Scheduled Maintenance 03/26/2017 [Completed]

[Update 03/26/2017 10:00 PM] All scheduled work has been completed successfully. All systems are operating at full performance again.

[Update 03/26/2017 1:38 PM] PeopleSoft is fully back up. All services are online at this time. We’re continuing to do some work in the background which may cause minor performance issues this afternoon. An update will be posted when that work is complete.

[Update 03/26/2017 1:08 PM] PeopleSoft is nearly back up. We have some work to do in the background that may cause some minor performance issues this afternoon, but all services will be available. The next update will come when PeopleSoft is fully back up.

[Update 03/26/2017 11:45 AM] We need to extend the maintenance window beyond noon as some processes are taking longer than expected. Right now PeopleSoft environments, including myPugetSound are offline. All other services are available. Another update will be posted upon completion or at 1:00 PM.

TS Planned Outage Alert {PeopleSoft Financials} – Complete

This is an update from Technology Services that the following system is updated and available online.
WHAT:  PeopleSoft Financials was taken offline for an upgrade this weekend and are now available for use.  Links to Financials items in myPugetSound are restored.
WHY:  Technology Services upgraded these environments with a new version of PeopleTools. PeopleTools is the foundation which supports the PeopleSoft application modules. One can think of it as similar to the IOS of an iPhone.
NOTE TO USERS: Users should clear their browser’s cache before continuing work.
Steps for clearing browser cache:
Firefox
1.       Choose the History menu (top left) and select Clear Recent History
2.       From the Time range to clear: drop-down menu, choose Everything
3.       In the Details down arrow, choose the items you would like to clear
4.       Click Clear Now
5.       Quit/close all browser windows and re-open
 
Chrome
1.       In the address bar type: chrome://settings/clearBrowserData
2.       Select Browsing history, Download history, Cookies and other site and plug-in data, and Cached images and files
3.       From the Obliterate the following items from: drop-down menu, choose the beginning of time
4.       Click Clear browsing data
5.       Quit/close all browser windows and re-open
 
Internet Explorer
1.       Select Tools (gear icon) > Safety > Delete browsing history…
2.       Select temporary internet files and website files, Cookies and website data, and History
3.       Click Delete
4.       Quit/Close all browser windows and re-open
 
Safari
1.       From the Safari menu (top left), select Clear History and Website Data…
2.       Select the desired time range and click Clear History
3.       Go to Safari Quit Safari to exit out of the browser completely and then re-open

Internet Outage – 2/15/2017 [Resolved]

UPDATE: K20 has informed us that the maintenance was completed as scheduled.  The total down time was less than 10 minutes.

Our main internet provider will be doing an urgent configuration change tonight from 11 PM to 1 AM to address a software bug.  The internet will be unavailable for periods of up to 5-10 minutes during this time.
