The SSL certificate for Webmail will be renewed at 6 p.m. today, 10/8/2014. The impact of this change should be minimal, and all email services including Webmail should remain available during this time. The process should take about 10 minutes to complete.

[Update] The work was completed successfully. Certain versions of Firefox on the MacIntosh may have trouble with the new certificate.We are investigating the issue.
[Updated 10/12/2014, 8:40 am ] The email services upgrade, was unsuccessful and was rolled back to before the upgrade started this morning. All other server updates have been completed, and services affected are back online.
[Original post] An upgrade to the campus email system and patch maintenance on the pre-production servers are scheduled for Sunday, 10/12/14, from 3 a.m. to noon.
Email services will be disrupted during the upgrade which involves updating the theme on the sign-in page for Webmail, also known as Outlook Web Access or OWA.
Other services, such as Cascade and PeopleSoft, individual and departmental file shares, and web services (Moodle, vDesk, the university’s website, etc.), should NOT be affected.
The maintenance window will include security SSL updates to some production servers, but most services should not be affected as part of that process.

[Original post] Puget Sound campus email service will be interrupted for the next few hours. This will affect all campus users. Once restored, users need not take any action: email on mobile devices and personal computers will just begin to function normally again. We apologize for the inconvenience.
We have successfully switched over our webmail site to the new theme for Exchange 2013. People may have experienced service interruptions during the hours of 8-10:30 a.m.
Mobile devices may need to be reconfigured manually. Please contact the service desk if you need any assistance.
We will be doing some configuration changes to the residential internet this morning to solve some service degradation (slow internet speeds). This may cause some short drops in the residential internet during this time. This affects only the residence halls, houses, and Union Ave. fraternities and sororities; academic and administrative internet connectivity will not be affected.
