Campus Wireless Network: Planned Maintenance

Completed on Thursday, March 27, 2025 at 7:40 a.m. 


SYSTEMS IMPACTED: 

  • Campus Wi-Fi

REASON FOR MAINTENANCE:

  • To ensure a secure, reliable computing environment, TS will made changes to the Network Access Control system. All Wireless Networks were unavailable during the maintenance window. 

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW:

  • Some MacOS clients will need to have the wireless network removed from settings and then re-added or they may not connect.

  • Technology Services will be restarting some network equipment in the locations listed above to correct a network management issue.

 

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW:

  • During the maintenance window, some wired and Wi-Fi network connections in the locations listed under systems impacted will go offline for approximately 15 minutes.

REASON FOR MAINTENANCE:

  • Technology Services will be restarting some network equipment in the Fieldhouse and Wyatt Hall to correct a network switch management issue. The Music building will be getting new battery systems installed that provide stable power to network switches.

 

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW:

  • During the maintenance window, some wired and Wi-Fi network connections in the locations listed under systems impacted house will go offline for approximately 15 minutes.

  • The changes made to the Campus Wireless Network on Tuesday, March 18 were unsuccessful and were rolled back to the previous state.

  • To resolve the issues encountered, TS will be making changes to the Network Access Control system in the Library. All Wireless Networks in the Library will be unavailable during the maintenance window. 

 

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW:

  • Campus and Guest Access Wireless Networks in the Library will not be available during the maintenance window. 

  • Computers and other devices connected to the Wired Network will still have access.

  • When opening a PeopleSoft Financials Page, it may open as a small window. If you experience this, click the shift-F5 key to have it open normally on a PC.
