The monthly patch maintenance is scheduled for Sunday the 11th of March 2012, from 3:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Some services may be intermittently or entirely unavailable, including:

  • Email
  • Personal and departmental file shares (on Alexandria and Merlin2)
  • Web services such as www.pugetsound.edu, cs.pugetsound.edu, and Moodle
  • vDesk

Database applications: Cascade, FAMIS, Millennium, and Banner should not be affected. A followup will be posted upon completion of this scheduled patch maintenance window.

The Pre-Production Patch Maintenance was completed at 9:00 am.

On Thursday the 1st of March from 7:00 AM – 9:00 AM most pre-production servers are to be patched. This means that most test systems may be intermittently or entirely unavailable during this time. Most users will not be impacted, as most users do not have access to these pre-production servers.

SafeConnect Server Memory Upgrade

We will be upgrading the memory on our SafeConnect server tomorrow morning between 6:30-7:30am. This should not impact users. Basically the network access control will be opened up during the time the server is down. I will need to have Impulse Point evaluate the server after the memory is installed. Once the server is back in operation, the network access control will be turned back on. Only users that are not compliant will then be blocked again.

The upgrade is complete and the server is back online. No issues incurred. 7:30am

[Resolved] Network access issues for certain users 01/30/2012

[Updated 01/30/2012 5:14 p.m.] Network access has been restored for affected users.  Thank you again for your patience and understanding.

Some members of the campus community have reported that they are unable to access the Internet.  They are being continuously prompted to install the Safe Connect Key, and are constantly being redirected to that page, restricting the ability to access off-campus websites.

We are working to restore service as quickly as possible.  We appreciate your patience and apologize greatly for the inconvenience.
