I think that the library should allow student to pay fines with with credit and debit cards. Some people can’t get a hold of cash fast enough and don’t have access to checks.
We would like that too! Unfortunately, the software that would let us take cards to pay fines would be a very costly purchase, and is problematic to integrate with the software that currently manages student accounts campuswide.
However, this is definitely something we’re aware of and thinking about. While we don’t have an immediate solutions, we are continuing to keep an eye out for possible solutions in the future.
