The RADIUS server has been moved to a new server with the same IP address as before, so no changes to services using RADIUS should be required. The client file was copied and test to ensure proper functioning of the server.

Blackboard 6.1 Server Installed
The Blackboard 6.1 server was installed. All blackboard services are functional. Ready for the migration from Blackboard 5.5.1 on 17 May.
Web Server Logging Changes II
The AWStats web statistics analyzer was installed as part of the web server logging changes. This package is lightweight in comparison with NetTracker. Statistics will update once a day automatically. An add-on product called summary4severaldomains summarizes statistics for the virtual hosts.
SurgeFTP server installed on main web server
The SurgeFTP ftp server replaces WU-ftpd on the main web server. This is to limit viewing of files outside users’ home directories.
This was performed as part of normal monthly Preventative Maintenance.
Sendmail upgraded
The University mail server was upgraded from Sendmail version 8.12.9-20030924 to version 8.12.10. This was done as a more proactive step to maintain better version levels. The previous version was patched to address a OOB issue which was a temporary fix. The daemon and configuration files have been upgrade to the current release level of 8.12.10.
Cisco 6509 installed
A Cisco 6509 was installed, and replaces the Enterasys SmartSwitch Router (SSR).

Listservs are now available.
Mail Server Hardware Installation Complete – Nearly
The installation of and changeover to the new email server hardware is complete. Proxy servers, email delivery, Webmail, dialin access, and account management interfaces (password changes, etc.) should be online.
The listserv system is not working correctly yet, but will be brought online tomorrow.
New Best Access Server Installed/Configured
A new Dell PowerEdge 1650 server was installed to serve as host to the Best Access system, which will move off Ketron.

The new Millenium OLAP Server was configured with Windows 2000 Server and SQL Server 2000, SP3.

New Millenium OLAP Server Installed – Part II
The new Millenium OLAP server was received and put in place in the server room. The machine name will be MAURY, in keeping with the convention of naming database application servers after islands in Puget Sound.
Software installation is scheduled for tomorrow.
New Millenium OLAP Server Installed -Part I – Install Attempted
A new server for the Millenium system to do OLAP for University Relations was recieved. I attempted to do the install today. Unfortunately, the hardware that was recieved was not the hardware that was ordered. The machine came with no Windows operating system licenses, no RAID controller, and only one disk drive.
I checked the order forms, and we ordered the correct hardware. We will talk with Dell to get this straightened out.
New PIX Firewall Installed
New Cisco PIX Firewall was put in place last night. Some adjustments to the rules was necessary, but all functionality, except for PCAnywhere access, should be in place.
