Network Maintenance – 03/16/2017 [COMPLETE]

UPDATE:  Network maintenance is now complete.

Networking will again be doing a maintenance tonight starting approximately at 6 PM and going until around 12 AM mid-night.

We will be finishing work in the following areas:

  • N. Lawrence Street homes
  • N. Alder Street homes
  • 11th/12th/13th Street homes

During our maintenance there will be intermediate network outages that will impact things such as wireless, internet, amd VOIP.

Networking will be doing a maintenance tonight starting approximately at 8PM and going until around 2AM.  Buildings that will be affected:

Todd-Phibbs
Langlow (Homes impacted: 1122/1133/1101 N. Lawrence; 1210 N. Alder, 3207 N. 12th)
CICE (Homes impacted: 3211, 3215 N. 13th; 1308 N Alder; Communications; Faculty)
3211 N. 13th (Homes impacted: 3207/3223  N. 13th)

There will be intermediate network outages during this time including wireless and internet.

TS Planned Outage Alert {PeopleSoft Financials} – Complete

This is an update from Technology Services that the following system is updated and available online.
WHAT:  PeopleSoft Financials was taken offline for an upgrade this weekend and are now available for use.  Links to Financials items in myPugetSound are restored.
WHY:  Technology Services upgraded these environments with a new version of PeopleTools. PeopleTools is the foundation which supports the PeopleSoft application modules. One can think of it as similar to the IOS of an iPhone.
NOTE TO USERS: Users should clear their browser’s cache before continuing work.
Steps for clearing browser cache:
Firefox
1.       Choose the History menu (top left) and select Clear Recent History
2.       From the Time range to clear: drop-down menu, choose Everything
3.       In the Details down arrow, choose the items you would like to clear
4.       Click Clear Now
5.       Quit/close all browser windows and re-open
 
Chrome
1.       In the address bar type: chrome://settings/clearBrowserData
2.       Select Browsing history, Download history, Cookies and other site and plug-in data, and Cached images and files
3.       From the Obliterate the following items from: drop-down menu, choose the beginning of time
4.       Click Clear browsing data
5.       Quit/close all browser windows and re-open
 
Internet Explorer
1.       Select Tools (gear icon) > Safety > Delete browsing history…
2.       Select temporary internet files and website files, Cookies and website data, and History
3.       Click Delete
4.       Quit/Close all browser windows and re-open
 
Safari
1.       From the Safari menu (top left), select Clear History and Website Data…
2.       Select the desired time range and click Clear History
3.       Go to Safari Quit Safari to exit out of the browser completely and then re-open

Internet Outage – 2/15/2017 [Resolved]

UPDATE: K20 has informed us that the maintenance was completed as scheduled.  The total down time was less than 10 minutes.

Our main internet provider will be doing an urgent configuration change tonight from 11 PM to 1 AM to address a software bug.  The internet will be unavailable for periods of up to 5-10 minutes during this time.

Fieldhouse and Aquatics Network Unavailable Due to Scheduled Facilities Maintenance 01/13/2017 [completed]

Facilities has completed their work.

Facilities is performing scheduled electric maintenance in the Fieldhouse. This means all network-related services (phone, internet, wifi) will be unavailable until the power is back on.

Campus Systems Unavailable Due to Scheduled Maintenance 01/08/2017 [completed]

[update 01/8/2017 11:15 a.m.] Our scheduled maintenance has been completed successfully.

[original] Production server patch maintenance is scheduled for Sunday, January 8th, from 3:00 a.m. until noon. During this time, all campus systems will be intermittently or entirely unavailable. Affected services include the university website, myPugetSound, PeopleSoft, Cascade, Moodle, campus file servers, and Exchange (email and calendar). An update will be posted once this maintenance is completed.

Internet Outage – December 28th, 2016 [Resolved]

 

Update: Our main Internet has been restored by our provider.

Our main internet provider K20 is doing maintenance that will cause intermittent disruptions to the internet from December 28th 8 PM to December 29th 2 AM.  Access to VPN2 will also be intermittent during this time.  However, all internal network access will be unaffected.  Our secondary internet link will remain active.  If there is a need to gain access to internal network resources please use VPN1.

PeopleSoft Campus and Portal Intermittently Unavailable Saturday, November 19 from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. [Complete]

Update complete as of 9:35am on November 19, 2016.

Due to scheduled maintenance, access to PeopleSoft Campus and Portal will be intermittent on Saturday, November 19th starting at 8:00 a.m. for a PeopleSoft update.
