LIBRARY LOGGED: Why click for availability?

The call #’s and availability should be on the first page by name instead of having to click link and wait 10 mins for it to load.

I assume your are referring to SUMMIT.  Unfortunately, the system to search for and request SUMMIT items has changed significantly and is unable to display the call #;’s and availability of the item on the initial results page.  In the previous system, all of the library catalogs were connected and acted as one large library catalog which allowed the location and availability items to be displayed.  The new system acts as a bridge between our catalog and the catalogs of the other SUMMIT libraries.  When you find an item in SUMMIT and click on one of the libraries to check for the availability of the title, the system is essentially running a search for that item in that library’s individual catalog and then pulling the information back to your screen.  It does take time as several steps are happening in the background to bring you the information.  This was a necessary change and we do realize that it can be frustrating to not have all of the information displayed automatically.
