LIBRARY LOGGED: Where is KBP?

where [on earth] is the KBP section?!

The KBP section is found on the library’s second floor. Unlike most Library of Congress call numbers, law sometimes gets 3 letters, but the 3 letters are still read alphabetically, so KBP is nestled on the second floor between the J sections and L sections.

You are always welcome to ask a librarian, anyone at the Circulation Desk or anyone at the Learning Commons Information Desk about where to find your book. We’ll always be happy to help!

If you’d prefer to do some wayfinding yourself, here is what I would recommend.

If you find a book in Collins Catalog, look under the call number for a link that says library map:

librarymap

If you click that, you’ll see a popup map showing you what floor your book is on, as well as roughly what area of the floor it’s on. Kind of nifty, I think!

The second floor is very extensive, so if the general map indicating that your book is in the back room of the the second floor isn’t as much help as you’d like, we also have detailed maps of theĀ  second floor that can help you find your book, like so:

KBP

If you’re looking for music scores and books on the second floor (call numbers beginning with M), check out the 2nd Floor West map. If you’re looking for any other book with a call number between D-L, check out the 2nd Floor East map.
