McIntyre Network: Planned Maintenance

Thursday, December 18 | 6:00 a.m. – 7:30 a.m.

 

SYSTEMS IMPACTED: 

  • McIntyre Hall Network (Wi-Fi, Phones, Ethernet) on Floors 0 and 1.

 REASON FOR MAINTENANCE:

  • Technology Services will be replacing a failed network switch.

 

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW:

  • During the maintenance window, wired and Wi-Fi network connections in McIntyre Hall will go offline for approximately 30 minutes.

REASON FOR IMPACT:

  • To ensure a secure, reliable computing environment, TS will be completing routine patch maintenance on our Puget Sound production servers.

 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

  • The university network, internet access, and wireless will NOT be affected.

  • Technology Services schedules regular maintenance windows, generally on the second Sunday of every other month, to ensure a secure, reliable computing environment.

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW:

  • During the maintenance window, impacted systems may experience brief network interruptions of a minute or two.

  • Security Services will remain reachable at (253) 879-3311 during this time.

SYSTEMS IMPACTED: 

  • Inbound and outbound internet access 

  • GlobalProtect VPN 

  • Systems requiring Internet connectivity on campus, such as Zoom phones and blue pole emergency towers

REASON FOR MAINTENANCE:

  • To ensure a secure, reliable computing environment, TS will be completing routine firmware updates on our network security appliances (firewalls).
