Tips for Detection
- Notice the caution banner prepended to the message. This indicates the message matches patterns of other phishing attempts.
- Be wary of opening attachments when you do not know the sender. An email with no content that only contains attachments should be suspicious.
- Notice the typo, “UN SUBMMIT” in the name of the attachment.
- Beware of phishing attempts advertising conferences that are false. Some may have fraudulent websites to accompany them. If it is alleging to be from an organization you know, you can always check the website to verify the legitimacy of the event.
