Tips for Detection
- Notice that the sender’s email address domain (rymco[.]com) does not match the organization they claim to be from.
- Notice that the reply-to address attempts to imitate the organization but also does not match (teams-directreliefs[.]org).
- Being asked to contact the sender via an alternate personal email address with no reasonable explanation should be suspicious. This is common in phishing emails so that attackers can continue communicating with you with less protections in place.
- If you are ever unsure if a job offer is real, do a web search of the company and view their job postings directly from their official website.
- Beware of job scams and anything that seems too good to be true.
