Technology Services (TS) has planned the following maintenance activities. Details on the maintenance being performed are available below:

Network Security Devices (Firewalls): Planned Maintenance

Thursday, September 25 | 6:00 a.m. – 8:00 a.m.

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW:

  • A brief internet outage of a minute or two can occur when failing between Internet Service Providers (ISPs) and firewalls.

  • Numerous failovers will take place during the maintenance window.

  • Security Services will remain reachable at (253) 879-3311 during this time.

SYSTEMS IMPACTED: 

  • Inbound and outbound internet access 

  • GlobalProtect VPN

  • Systems requiring Internet connectivity on campus, such as Zoom phones and blue pole emergency towers

REASON FOR MAINTENANCE:

  • Technology Services is upgrading our primary ISP connection.

{Alumni Email} Open Technical Issue started September 19

Technology Services (TS) is working to resolve the following incident. Details on the outage are available below:


Email: Emailing Alumni email accounts from a pugetsound.edu address

Started September 19 


There is a known issue with emails going from pugetsound.edu accounts to alumni.pugetsound.edu email addresses.  We are investigating the cause and working with Microsoft to resolve the issue. 


Additional information: 

  • Only emails from pugetsound.edu accounts going to Alumni accounts are affected 
  • Alumni can still email pugetsound.edu email accounts
  • Alumni can still send and receive emails from all other external sources

Thursday, September 11 | 6:00 a.m. – 9:30 a.m.

SYSTEMS IMPACTED: 

  • Facilities B Network 6:00 – 7:30 a.m.

  • Unit A Network 6:00 – 7:30 a.m.

  • Unit D Network 6:00 – 7:30 a.m.

  • Unit F Network 9:00 – 9:30 a.m.

  • Unit H Network 6:00 – 7:30 a.m.

REASON FOR MAINTENANCE:

  • Technology Services will be restarting network switches.

 

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW:

  • During the maintenance window, wired and Wi-Fi network connections the areas listed under systems impacted will go down for approximately 5-10 minutes.

Northeast Campus Network: Planned Maintenance

Sunday, September 7 | 6:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

 

SYSTEMS IMPACTED: 

  • Wilson Welcome Center Network 
    • from 6 a.m. – 10 a.m.
  • Kittredge, Sculpture, and Ceramics Building Network 
    • from 6 a.m. – 4 p.m.

REASON FOR MAINTENANCE:

  • Technology Services will be re-provisioning network switches to synchronize with the Juniper Mist management system.

 

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW:

  • During the maintenance window, wired and Wi-Fi network connections in the buildings listed above will go offline intermittently.
