Note: If you received this email, go ahead and delete the message and DO NOT call the phone number. This email is not legitimate and you will not be charged.
Tips for Detection
- Look out for fake invoices, receipts, bills, or charges. Emails claiming you will be charged for something you did not purchase are likely not legitimate. Note: if you do experience fraudulent charges, work with your financial institution directly.
- This email purports to be from Norton Security. However, the email address is a Gmail address and not from an @norton.com email address. This indicates the email is most likely not from the company the sender claims to be from.
- Instead of calling a number listed in an email you are unsure of, you can always go to the company’s website for their contact information and call the number listed on the company’s website instead.
- Notice the caution banner prepended to the message.
