Technology Services (TS) will be performing scheduled maintenance on our network security devices. No outage or interruption to services are expected. Details on the maintenance being performed are available below:

Network Security Devices (Firewalls): Configuration Updates

Wednesday, February 4 | 8:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.

Thursday, February 5 | 8:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.

Monday, February 9 | 10 p.m. – 11 p.m.

Wednesday, February 11 | 8:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW:

• All campus network connectivity and hosted systems should remain available.

• No outage or interruption to services are expected.

• If you encounter an issue accessing an affected system from off-campus after the change, please report an issue. 

• If you manage an affected system and have questions or concerns prior to the change, please contact ts_infosec@pugetsound.edu.

REASON FOR MAINTENANCE:

• To modernize security policies on the firewalls, TS will be making minor configuration updates to policies affecting incoming connections to publicly accessible systems hosted or redirected on-campus. 

• The changes are intended to continue allowing legitimate use cases, while reducing the risk of attacks. 

• Policies for affected systems will be modified over multiple days. Please refer to the spreadsheet for specific dates.
