Trimble Hall Network Malfunction I

A switch in Trimble Hall 107 malfunctioned and caused a traffic flood into the rest of the network. Trimble Hall was disconnected from the network for approximately 1 hour while the issue was resolved. A reboot of the switch solved the problem.

The problem is best characterized by:
1) a constant outflow of traffic from Trimble Hall into the SSR of about 7.5 Mbps. 2) A large number of apparently spoofed ICMP(ping) packets, originating from a main address and destined for a Trimble address.
