Some More Poetry

Here’s another quick nature poem. Wrote this one as a draft back when I was brainstorming for the assignment I wrote the other one for! A little more somber, and I’m not quite as fond of this one as the other, but here it is.

Untitled

How strange the still and silent life
hidden in the Cimmerian shade of night.
Casting shadows of murk and myth
by light of her pallid, wintry face.
Cloaked in quiet
obscure, yet understanding,
she floods her lonely kingdom
with gentle, forgiving light
and meets my gaze
with unseeing ivory eyes.
I find solace in her silence
Made whole by the assuring nod
of the motionless moon in the night.
