TS Welcomes Emily Marty as Technology Support Analyst

Technology Services is pleased to welcome Emily Marty as our Technology Support Analyst.

Emily hails from the Land of 10,000 Lakes (or what some may call Minnesota), and decided to venture out west to Tacoma to pursue her degree in Psychology at Pacific Lutheran University. For almost five years, she worked in the IT Department at PLU as a Help Desk Technician, in which she discovered a knack with technology and a love for helping others.

Emily enjoys driving a stick shift, knitting, and looking at pictures of baby goats and pigs. She is thrilled to be a part of this beautiful campus!

Welcome Emily!

TS Welcomes Larissa Ogawa as Technology Support Analyst

Technology Services is pleased to welcome Larissa Ogawa as our Technology Support Analyst.

Larissa recently graduated from the University of Puget Sound in 2014 with her degree in Psychology and a minor in Math. As a student, she worked in the Educational Technology team and for the last year and a half she has been expanding her culinary knowledge with Dining and Conference Services.

Larissa grew up in Hawaii and attended the Kamehameha Schools. There she enjoyed playing basketball, air riflery, and being on the math team. While Larissa still loves to play basketball, her interests have expanded to include golf, hiking, and traveling.

Welcome Larissa!

TS Welcomes Lindsay Morris as PMO Director

Technology Services is pleased to welcome Lindsay Morris as the new Director of the Project Management Office.

Lindsay was born and raised in Harbor Springs, Michigan and proceeded to the land of Green and White where she received her degree from Michigan State University. The past 7 years, Lindsay has been working north of Detroit for an IT Solutions Company, but desired to move to the Pacific Northwest for the water and the great outdoors.

In her spare time, Lindsay enjoys sheep herding, kayaking, and hiking with her two Border collies Ezra and Willow. She is also glad to be closer to Walla Walla, WA so she’s just a road trip away from her niece and nephews.

Lindsay is excited to be a part of this beautiful campus, and we are excited to have her.

Welcome Lindsay!

TS welcomes Annie Cain as User Experience Manager

Annie has a degree in Informatics from the University of Washington and one in Library Science from Simmons College. She combined the two in order to hack away at libraries, to (hopefully) bring joy to users at Harvard University and beyond. Then she dragged her wife and two kids across the country to bring some joy back to her native Pacific Northwest.

You can find Annie reading comics and drinking tea. Often at the same time. She and her family are enjoying the Puget Sound mossy green great outdoors and not missing the New England blizzards.

Welcome to Puget Sound, Annie!

Welcome to New Server SysAdmin Jason Owings!

Technology Services is pleased to welcome Jason Owings, our new server systems administrator. Born and raised in West Texas, Jason has worked for 10 years in the field of information technology with a focus on healthcare and higher education. His wife, Casey, works in women’s health and family medicine at Multicare in Tacoma. Jason and Casey have an 8-year-old daughter and 3-year-old son. Favorite family activities include hiking, camping, snow skiing, and playing video games.

Please join us in welcoming Jason and family to the Pacific Northwest! We’re very glad to have him on campus as part of the Technology Services team.

TS Retreat Produces Wonder Wall of Accomplishments

Every summer, the Technology Services (TS) team gathers together for a retreat to reflect on the accomplishments of the past year and prepare for what is to come. It is a chance to celebrate goals met, hear stories directly from fellow team members, and learn about the many services the department provides to the community. In an effort to make accomplishments tangible for all to see, the team produces a Wonder Wall. What is a “Wonder Wall,” you ask? It is a place where each team member is invited to post key achievements for the past year. For the next few weeks, we invite you to stop by our offices located in the garden level of McIntyre Hall to check out this year’s Wonder Wall.

TS Welcomes Josie Lomax as New Business Analyst

Josie Lomax has joined the Technology Services staff as Business Analyst in the Project Management Office. She previously served a two year stint as Technology Coordinator for Career and Employment Services.

Josie has a B.A. in History and a Master’s in Teaching from Puget Sound, which she used in teaching middle school science and math. Her other career adventures include jaunts as an English language teacher in Japan through the JET Program and a low-voltage electrician.

Josie’s hobbies have primarily been (unsuccessfully) learning the banjo, leading raid groups in online video games, and semi-reluctant trips to the YMCA. Josie says she’s always up for a chat about education, social justice, or reality television and is grateful that her husband, Jeremy, tolerates her notoriously bad taste in music.

Welcome to TS, Josie!
