Alfred Dreyfus, a young Jewish officer has been convicted of treason, sentenced to a life of imprisonment, and publicly stripped of his rank. Georges Picquart, a witness to Dreyfus’ humiliation and head of the agency who convicted Dreyfus, begins as a firm believer in the officer’s guilt. Picquart begins to question his judgment, however, when he happens upon evidence that may lead to another suspect.
