I just recently finished up my second lithography print! The theme of this one was just “detail.” We had to incorporate a drawing medium called liquid tushe, which is this watery stuff that works sort of like water color for your stone.
I decided to dedicate my print to my wonderful, inspiring mother! I decided to incorporate peaches and roses not only because they are art historically feminine images, but also because I’ve always associated them with my mom. Both are delicate, beautiful, and sweet smelling. With these images, I created what I thought it might look like if she had her own seal, or some sort of identifying image. So here’s some pictures of my process!
The print turned out a little darker than I had planned, but that’s what tends to happen in art I suppose. I titled the print “Elizabeth” and showed my mom–she was flattered and very happy! (:
