Preview of vDesk is Here!

Technology Services is pleased to roll out a preview of vDesk, the university’s new virtual desktop.

As the perfect companion to SoundNet, Moodle, and Mahara, vDesk provides anytime, anywhere access to common applications and university network shares. To use vDesk, login with your Puget Sound username and password at https://vdesk.pugetsound.edu.

TS plans to add more applications to vDesk and expand its use to computer labs and desktop machines on campus. The full version of vDesk will be available for the fall semester. During this preview period, please send questions, suggestions, and comments to the Technology Service Desk at 253.879.8585 or servicedesk@pugetsound.edu.

Saving Data on Lab Computers

ResNet has installed software on the general access lab computers which resets them upon shut down each day. If you create or store files on the desktop of a lab computer, your work will be lost when that computer is rebooted. You must save your work to your home directory (H:) on the Alexandria share drive or to a flash drive when using one of these computers. See instructions for Saving to a Puget Sound Network Share.
