A Daily Routine is Established"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>Classes Have Begun!\u00a0 A Daily Routine is Established<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong> <\/strong>Now that I have been attending classes for about a week, I feel that I should give you a brief overview of my daily routine:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>8am-12pm: <\/strong><em>Classes at the Tunghai University \u83ef\u8a9e\u4e2d\u5fc3 (Foreign Language Center).<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">I have two hours of reading classes followed by 2 hours of conversation classes.\u00a0 Each one of my four classes is taught by a different professor and I am growing more accustomed to their different accents and teaching styles. \u00a0I am finding classes difficult, but class size is small (2-4 people) so it is easy to ask questions and receive help.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">Favorite Assignment so far?\u00a0 One of my conversation teachers asked us to go to a department store, find a specific restaurant, and bring back a menu as proof that we had done the assignment.\u00a0 Practical <em>and<\/em> delicious.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>12-2pm: <\/strong><em>Lunch Break. <\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">Almost everyday, myself and the other students walk to \u6771\u5225 (D\u014dngb\u00ede) to grab lunch. \u00a0\u6771\u5225\u00a0is a labyrinthine collection of streets and alleyways crammed with convenience stores, restaurants, and just about any kind of shop you can imagine.\u00a0 The food in Taiwan is relatively low-cost and we have made it our mission to sample a different restaurant everyday.\u00a0 (\u6771\u5225\u00a0really comes alive at night when all the street-side vendors open up shop, but I will write more about that later.)<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>2-4pm <\/strong><em>Tutor Hours:<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">Four days a week, the Puget Sound students break into small groups for tutors hours.\u00a0 My tutor&#8217;s name is Lisa and she has been working hard to supplement lessons from the textbook with her own activities and exercises. \u00a0This past Friday after class, she invited us to a Taiwanese arcade that had ping pong, batting cages, darts and more.\u00a0 (The first chapter in our book was on sports.)
