Feel free to reply in the comments section if you&#8217;d like to join me for some summer economics reading. Once fall comes back around, we&#8217;ll have something to discuss as a community of readers and econ-enthusiasts! I look forward to writing on these books (and much more) when the fall comes back around!<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/ecx.images-amazon.com\/images\/I\/4183cw17vIL._SY344_BO1,204,203,200_.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"228\" height=\"346\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Book #1: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Misbehaving-Behavioral-Economics-Richard-Thaler\/dp\/0393080943\"><em>Misbehaving: The Making of Behavioral Economics<\/em><\/a>, by Richard Thaler. Many of you may know <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/r_thaler\">Richard Thaler<\/a> as a co-author of\u00a0<em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Nudge-Improving-Decisions-Health-Happiness\/dp\/014311526X\/\">Nudge<\/a><\/em>. This follow-up provides some background to the development of what we now know as behavioral economics. While the book hasn&#8217;t been officially released yet, it has received many positive reviews. I&#8217;m most excited about this one!\u00a0<strong>Released May 11, 2015<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/sc.arcity.co\/images\/scarcity3d.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"250\" height=\"330\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Book #2: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/0805092641\/ref=dp_proddesc_1?ie=UTF8&amp;n=283155\">Scarcity: Why Having Too Little Means So Much<\/a>, by Sendhil Mullainathan and Eldar Shafir. Co-written by an economist and a psychologist, this book (which I&#8217;ve admittedly started) tackles decision-making from the context of a scarcity of several resources: money, time, mental bandwidth \u2026 Considering the role of &#8220;scarcity&#8221; in economics, this book provides an insightful and direct\u00a0application to decision making.\u00a0<strong>Released September 2013<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/ecx.images-amazon.com\/images\/I\/51g6ThT1PcL._SY344_BO1,204,203,200_.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"239\" height=\"346\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Book #3: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Undercover-Economist-Strikes-Back-Ruin\/dp\/1594631409\/ref=tmm_hrd_title_0?_encoding=UTF8&amp;sr=8-1&amp;qid=1431109062\">The Undercover Economist Strikes Back: How to Run-or Ruin-an Economy<\/a>, by Tim Harford. From the author of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Undercover-Economist-Revised-Updated-Edition\/dp\/0199926514\/ref=pd_bxgy_b_img_y\">The Undercover Economist<\/a>, a take on microeconomic ideas out in the world and one of my all-time favorites, this book is a question-and-answer-style take on macroeconomic questions.
