In addition to elevated\u00a0black Friday and other seasonal shopping, we might expect Santa Claus to be a major economic force. In that spirit, researchers have put together\u00a0some interesting statistics on what Santa&#8217;s operations, were they structured as a multinational corporation, might look like. Based on his job&#8217;s description of pilot and industrial manager, <a href=\"http:\/\/insure.com\">insure.com<\/a>\u00a0estimates Santa would <a href=\"http:\/\/www.marketplace.org\/topics\/business\/final-note\/heres-santa-claus-estimated-salary-year\">make<span style=\"color: #222222\">\u00a0a salary of $<\/span><\/a><span style=\"color: #222222\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.marketplace.org\/topics\/business\/final-note\/heres-santa-claus-estimated-salary-year\">139,924<\/a>. (If Santa were classified as CEO, that number would likely be much higher.)\u00a0<\/span>NPR&#8217;s Planet Money crunched the numbers to determine the elven workforce necessary if Santa operated like UPS or FedEx. It turns out he would need <a href=\"http:\/\/www.npr.org\/blogs\/money\/2012\/12\/19\/167570321\/without-magic-santa-would-need-12-million-employees\">12 million employees<\/a>.
