Special Collections, August 2016<\/p><\/div>\n<p>It\u2019s been a busy summer at Collins Library, here are just a few of the highlights:<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Archives &amp; Special Collections:<br \/>\n<\/em><\/strong><br \/>\nThe space enhancement project is well underway with the walls up for our Reading Room and Learning\/Presentation spaces.\u00a0 We still have a lot of \u201cbehind the scenes\u201d work to complete, but we can already see how terrific this new space will be for users.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Digital Humanities:<br \/>\n<\/em><\/strong><em><br \/>\n<\/em>On July 27, 2016, Collins Library hosted <em>Digital Humanities\/Digital Pedagogies: A NW5C Workshop<\/em>, which was organized by Peggy Burge, Humanities Librarian and Coordinator of Teaching, Learning and Digital Humanities. \u00a0The 33 participants in the workshop came from all five colleges and included a mix of educational technologists, faculty and librarians. \u00a0Lightning talks highlighted an assortment of digital tools in specific pedagogical contexts. \u00a0Puget Sound faculty members\u2014Katherine Smith in History and Alison Tracy Hale in English and Honors\u2014explained how they have incorporated digital tools in their course assignments. \u00a0Two hands-on sessions were offered in the afternoon, one on &#8220;Using Scalar in Digital Writing, Publishing, and Exhibits&#8221;
