I definitely have a lot to mull over from the sessions I attended. There are so many valuable teaching and learning materials available in Collins Library and beyond; but here are a few starting points:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.pugetsound.edu\/academics\/academic-resources\/race-pedagogy-initiative\/2014-race-pedagogy-national-c\/preliminary-conference-schedule\/\">Look over the Race &amp; Pedagogy<strong> Conference Schedule<\/strong><\/a> to view keynote speeches, the Youth Summit Rally, and find contact information for presenters in the Concurrent Sessions.<\/li>\n<li>Reading and Teaching materials:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&#8211; Check out these LibGuides to look for books, articles, videos, and assignment ideas related to the conference: <a href=\"http:\/\/research.pugetsound.edu\/content.php?pid=581816&amp;sid=4795774\"><strong>2014 Race &amp; Pedagogy Conference Keynote &amp; Spotlight Speakers: A Resource Guide<\/strong><\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/research.pugetsound.edu\/content.php?pid=563343&amp;sid=4643781\"><strong>2014 Race &amp; Pedagogy Conference Teaching Resources<\/strong><\/a> (Includes books written by the Keynote and Spotlight speakers \u2013 I know what I\u2019ll be delving into over Winter Break!)<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Also presented during the conference were these <strong>free 4<sup>th<\/sup>-8<sup>th<\/sup> grade teaching materials<\/strong>, developed by the Strategic Education Research Partnership to engage students in relevant and important conversations while maintaining Common Core standards. Includes units on topics such as \u201cWhere is the justice in our justice system?\u201d and \u201cHow do we right the wrongs of the past?\u201d Available at <a href=\"http:\/\/wordgen.serpmedia.org\/\">http:\/\/wordgen.serpmedia.org\/<\/a>. (I wish my elementary and middle-school curriculum was like this!)<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Come check out the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pugetsound.edu\/academics\/academic-resources\/collins-memorial-library\/about-collins\/artwork-exhibits-in-the-library\/book-power-redux\/\"><strong><em>Book Power Redux<\/em><\/strong><\/a> exhibit here in Collins Library to explore book art addressing social and political issues.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Race &amp; Pedagogy Journal: Teaching and Learning for Justice<\/strong> is a new journal publication created by the Race and Pedagogy Initiative at Puget Sound and \u201cprovides a forum to cultivate a critical discussion around the issues of teaching and race to mitigate the effects of discrimination and structural racism, and thereby, improve education for all students\u201d (quoted from <a href=\"http:\/\/soundideas.pugetsound.edu\/rpj\/\">http:\/\/soundideas.pugetsound.edu\/rpj\/<\/a>). Submit your work by Nov. 1 to be considered for the winter 2014 issue!<\/li>\n<li><strong>Schooling the World<\/strong>: a powerful film discussed by presenter Patricia Whitefoot in the <em>Knowledge Reclamation, Land and Language Rights<\/em> spotlight session.
