Exhibit Coming Fall 2015 &#8211; Reflecting Importance of Soils to our Environment"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.pugetsound.edu\/collinsunbound\/files\/2014\/09\/CALLOUT_Dirt.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft  wp-image-6249\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.pugetsound.edu\/collinsunbound\/files\/2014\/09\/CALLOUT_Dirt.jpg\" alt=\"CALLOUT_Dirt\" width=\"346\" height=\"224\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.pugetsound.edu\/collinsunbound\/files\/2014\/09\/CALLOUT_Dirt.jpg 406w, https:\/\/blogs.pugetsound.edu\/collinsunbound\/files\/2014\/09\/CALLOUT_Dirt-300x194.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 346px) 100vw, 346px\" \/><\/a>Coming Fall 2015 to Collins Library at the University of Puget Sound! <\/strong>An exhibit featuring artists, writers, and scientists \u0003reflecting on the importance of soils to our environment.<\/p>\n<p>We are excited to begin work on a collaborative exhibit in support of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fao.org\/globalsoilpartnership\/iys-2015\/en\/\">International Year of \u0003Soil<\/a> as supported by the United Nations.<\/p>\n<p>This exhibit will raise awareness of the importance of soil to our global community.\u00a0 Preliminary plans include contributions from local soil scientists, educators and experts, a call for entries from book artists and writers to respond to the issues that scientists are raising about soils and our environment as well as insights into what makes up soil, with contributions from the Slater Museum and a collection of soil samples from across the community. We will also provide information on soils within the Tacoma community.<\/p>\n<p><em>Interested?\u00a0 Want to get involved?
