Ann Putnam holds a Ph.D. in American Literature from the University of Washington.\u00a0 She is an internationally known Hemingway scholar who has given papers in France, Spain, and Cuba, among others.\u00a0 She has published essays in many collections, including Hemingway and Women:\u00a0 Female Critics and the Female Voice, Hemingway and the Natural World, <\/i>and Hemingway in Context<\/i>.\u00a0 She is completing a novel set in Cuba, called Cuban Quartermoon<\/i> in which Hemingway himself makes an appearance.\u00a0 Her most recent publication is a memoir: Full Moon at Noontide: A Daughter\u2019s Last Goodbye.<\/i><\/p>\n

This year for Pierce County Reads selection is the\u00a0 New York Times best seller and award-winning The Paris Wife<\/span><\/b>, by internationally known author Paula McLain. The Paris Wife<\/span><\/b>\u00a0 provides an intriguing account of one of the world\u2019s greatest authors, Ernest Hemingway, seen through the eyes of his first wife, Hadley Richardson.<\/p>\n
