\n<\/b><\/p>\n
IN Egypt’s sandy silence, all alone,<\/p>\n
Stands a gigantic Leg, which far off throws<\/p>\n
The only shadow that the Desart knows:–<\/p>\n
“I am great OZYMANDIAS<\/i>,” saith the stone,<\/p>\n
“The King of Kings; this mighty City shows<\/p>\n
“The wonders of my hand.”–The City’s gone,–<\/p>\n
Nought but the Leg remaining to disclose<\/p>\n
The site of this forgotten Babylon.<\/p>\n
We wonder,–and some Hunter may express<\/p>\n
Wonder like ours, when thro’ the wilderness<\/p>\n
Where London stood, holding the Wolf in chace,<\/p>\n
He meets some fragment huge, and stops to guess<\/p>\n
What powerful but unrecorded race<\/p>\n
Once dwelt in that annihilated place.<\/p>\n
