{"id":2984,"date":"2012-08-22T13:21:35","date_gmt":"2012-08-22T21:21:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.ups.edu\/collinsunbound\/?p=2984"},"modified":"2012-08-22T13:21:35","modified_gmt":"2012-08-22T21:21:35","slug":"picture-it-photo-contest","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.pugetsound.edu\/collinsunbound\/picture-it-photo-contest\/","title":{"rendered":"&quot;Picture It&quot; Photo Contest"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.pugetsound.edu\/collinsunbound\/files\/2012\/08\/Pictureit_image.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-2985\" style=\"margin-left: 8px;margin-right: 8px\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.pugetsound.edu\/collinsunbound\/files\/2012\/08\/Pictureit_image.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"277\" height=\"153\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.pugetsound.edu\/collinsunbound\/files\/2012\/08\/Pictureit_image.jpg 350w, https:\/\/blogs.pugetsound.edu\/collinsunbound\/files\/2012\/08\/Pictureit_image-300x166.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 277px) 100vw, 277px\" \/><\/a>Sponsored by Collins Memorial Library and the Center for Writing, Learning, &amp; Teaching.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Find the most unusual, inspiring, secret, or cozy place in which you like to read, write, think, or study and capture it in a photo!\u00a0 Each photograph must have a suitable accompanying caption (what, where, why).\u00a0 Images will be displayed on the Library and Center for Writing, Learning, &amp; Teaching web pages.\u00a0 The winning photos will be framed and on display for the academic year in both the Center for Writing, Learning, &amp; Teaching (CWLT) and Collins Library.<\/p>\n<p>Entries will be judged by a panel of University of Puget Sound student employees from the CWLT and the Collins Memorial Library.<\/p>\n<p><strong><strong>Who can participate:<\/strong><\/strong> Any currently enrolled University of Puget Sound student<\/p>\n<p><strong><strong>Prizes:<\/strong><\/strong> Three winners will receive a $100 gift card and a certificate, and the winning photos will be framed and displayed for the academic year in both the CWLT and Collins Library.<\/p>\n<p><strong><strong>General Guidelines: <\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Stick to the      contest theme: Reading, writing, thinking, studying&#8230;<\/li>\n<li>Each      photographer can submit as many entries as desired, but each photo must be      submitted separately.<\/li>\n<li>Upload only      your own original work.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure that      you have the permission of each identifiable person to use their image by      filling out this <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pugetsound.edu\/files\/resources\/10473_PictureIt_PermissionForm.pdf\">Photo      Permission Form.pdf<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Post-processing      and digital manipulation is allowed.<\/li>\n<li>Photos      should be appropriate for general audience.<\/li>\n<li>Please note      that photos must be received by midnight on October 15, 2012.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><strong>How to Submit:<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em><em>Step 1:<\/em><\/em><strong><strong> <\/strong><\/strong>Send an email to <a href=\"mailto:PictureIt@pugetsound.edu\">PictureIT@pugetsound.edu<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li><em><em>Step 2:<\/em><\/em> In the subject line provide your first and last name.<\/li>\n<li><em><em>Step 3:<\/em><\/em> In the message portion include the following: Name, email, telephone number, and photo caption which should include a brief statement about your image.<\/li>\n<li><em><em>Step 4: <\/em><\/em>Submit your digital image as an attachment.<\/li>\n<li><em><em>Step 5:<\/em><\/em> Attach <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pugetsound.edu\/files\/resources\/10473_PictureIt_PermissionForm.pdf\">photo permission forms<\/a> if required.\u00a0 Please note permission forms are only necessary for photos with easily identifiable people.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>By submitting your photo(s) to this contest, you grant the University of Puget Sound, permission to publicly display, reproduce, and use the photographs in all manner and media for any and all purposes, including related promotional purposes, in perpetuity.\u00a0 However, you will retain the copyright to your photo(s) and Puget Sound will not sell your photo(s).\u00a0 You also warrant that the photo is your original work and does not violate the copyright or any other personal or property right of any third party, and that you have obtained any and all releases and permissions necessary for our intended use.<\/p>\n<p><strong><strong>Technical Guidelines:<\/strong><\/strong> Photos      should be 1024 pixels wide and 768 pixels tall.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sponsored by Collins Memorial Library and the Center for Writing, Learning, &amp; Teaching.
