{"id":2281,"date":"2012-01-24T08:08:49","date_gmt":"2012-01-24T16:08:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.ups.edu\/collinsunbound\/?p=2281"},"modified":"2012-01-24T08:08:49","modified_gmt":"2012-01-24T16:08:49","slug":"collins-library-welcomes-ben-tucker-business-economics-soc-sciences-librarian","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.pugetsound.edu\/collinsunbound\/collins-library-welcomes-ben-tucker-business-economics-soc-sciences-librarian\/","title":{"rendered":"Collins Library Welcomes Ben Tucker: New Business, Economics &amp; Social Sciences Librarian"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.pugetsound.edu\/collinsunbound\/files\/2012\/01\/BenTucker_profile.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-2292\" style=\"margin-left: 7px;margin-right: 7px\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.pugetsound.edu\/collinsunbound\/files\/2012\/01\/BenTucker_profile.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"222\" height=\"175\" \/><\/a>Collins Memorial Library is pleased to announce the appointment of Ben Tucker as the new Business, Economics and Social Sciences Librarian.\u00a0 Ben joined the Library liaison team on January 19<sup>th<\/sup> and will be responsible for reference and information services for not only Business and Economics, but Comparative Sociology and International Political Economy. \u00a0He will also be involved in the development of our institutional repository, Sound Ideas. \u00a0Most recently Ben served as a Content Evaluation Specialist at Amazon where he was responsible for a variety of programs associated with copyright status and evaluation of electronic publications.\u00a0 Ben completed his graduate work in Library and Information Science in June 2010 at the University of Washington where he worked at both the Odegaard Undergraduate and Engineering libraries and was involved in the development of outreach programs as well as information literacy initiatives.\u00a0 \u00a0Ben was the recipient of the 21<sup>st<\/sup> Century Award upon graduation which reflects his commitment to innovation and change.\u00a0 He has also worked as a teacher in the Hawaii Public Schools and as a Media Specialist at the University of Hawaii.\u00a0 Ben completed his undergraduate degree in American Studies at the University of New Mexico.\u00a0 Ben states, \u201cI am excited to facilitate teaching and learning at the University of Puget Sound by providing friendly and relevant research assistance to students.
