Hess Collection<\/a>, <\/strong><em>Collins Memorial Library, University of Puget Sound, Tacoma WA.<\/em>  Collins Library is delighted to announce the gift of 150 pop-up books from retired art librarian, Stanley W. Hess. An arts advocate in Kitsap County, Stanley has been honored with several community awards for his work with the Puppet Museum. He currently lives in Bremerton and is the curator of the Aurora Valentinetti Puppet Museum, a division formerly of Evergreen Children\u2019s Theatre. The collection is currently being processed and will be maintained in the Archives &amp; Special Collections. A series of events are being planned to showcase the collection. <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p> JUNE<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>June 6 \u2013 August 6, 2022:&nbsp;<strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.pugetsound.edu\/collinsunbound\/puget-sound-book-artists-11th-annual-exhibition-june-6-august-5-2022-collins-library\/\">Puget Sound Book Artists\u2019 11th Annual Exhibition<\/a><\/strong>, <\/strong><em>Collins Memorial Library, University of Puget Sound \u2013 Tacoma WA.<\/em>  The PSBA exhibition will be on view this summer at the Collins Memorial Library at UPS from June 6 &#8211; August 5, 2022. The theme is \u201cpeaks and valleys,\u201d and promises not to disappoint.<em> <\/em><br><\/li><li><strong>June 11, 2-4pm:  Puget Sound Book Artists\u2019 11th Annual Exhibition<\/strong> &#8211; <strong> Opening Reception<\/strong>, <em>Collins Memorial Library, University of Puget Sound \u2013 Tacoma WA.<\/em> <em>(Masks are not required but recommended.)<\/em><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>AUGUST<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>August 12 \u2013 December 14, 2022<\/strong>: <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.pugetsound.edu\/collinsunbound\/changing-the-conversation-artists-books-zines-and-broadsides-from-the-collins-memorial-library-collection-august-12-december-14-2022\/\">Changing the Conversation: Artists\u2019 Books, Zines and Broadsides from the Collins Memorial Library Collection<\/a>,<\/strong> <em>Collins Memorial Library, University of Puget Sound (<em>Masks are not required but recommended.<\/em>) \u2013 Tacoma WA.<\/em>  This exhibit represents over a decade of collecting artists\u2019 books that focus on social justice themes and challenge the way we think about topics.\u00a0An artists\u2019 book is a conversation starter.\u00a0Full of voice and vision, artists\u2019 books bring unique perspectives to a host of subjects that challenge long held beliefs, ideals and ideas facing our society.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.pugetsound.edu\/collinsunbound\/events-exhibits-in-collins-library-spring-2020\/\">F<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.pugetsound.edu\/collinsunbound\/events-exhibits-fall-2021\/\">ALL\/SPRING 2021-22 EVENTS<\/a><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>MAY May 2022:&nbsp; The Wonderful World of Pop-Up Books: The Stanley W.
