There will be a series of pop-up exhibits in the Wheelock Student Center every Monday this October from 12-2 PM. Stop by to learn about Puget Sound\u2019s history, from athletics to architecture. Each pop-up exhibit features items from the ephemera collection, some dating back to the 1920\u2019s and 30\u2019s.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.pugetsound.edu\/collinsunbound\/files\/2019\/10\/TheTrail.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-11521\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.pugetsound.edu\/collinsunbound\/files\/2019\/10\/TheTrail.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"229\" height=\"312\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.pugetsound.edu\/collinsunbound\/files\/2019\/10\/TheTrail.jpg 462w, https:\/\/blogs.pugetsound.edu\/collinsunbound\/files\/2019\/10\/TheTrail-220x300.jpg 220w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 229px) 100vw, 229px\" \/><\/a>On Monday, October 7<sup>th<\/sup> the Archives and Special Collections presented an exhibit on \u201cOld School Athletics\u201d at Puget Sound. We shared memorabilia and rare objects that highlighted the rich history of sports at UPS.<\/p>\n<p>On Monday, October 14<sup>th<\/sup> our exhibit will be \u201cPromoting Puget Sound to Prospective Students.\u201d Many of the items in this exhibit are advertisements with the goal of inspiring recent high school graduates to come to Puget Sound.<\/p>\n<p>On Monday October 28<sup>th<\/sup> the exhibit theme will be \u201cFirst-Year Orientation Programs.\u201d Ther<a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.pugetsound.edu\/collinsunbound\/files\/2019\/10\/sailing.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-11522 alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.pugetsound.edu\/collinsunbound\/files\/2019\/10\/sailing.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"184\" height=\"369\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.pugetsound.edu\/collinsunbound\/files\/2019\/10\/sailing.jpg 370w, https:\/\/blogs.pugetsound.edu\/collinsunbound\/files\/2019\/10\/sailing-150x300.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 184px) 100vw, 184px\" \/><\/a>e will be items from the collection that highlight the history of this famous Puget Sound tradition. The exhibit features a small collection of Puget Sound handbooks which are little guides to campus life (they are literally tiny). These books give insight into the unique past of our university and highlight the strange traditions that first-years had to follow. Come check them out to learn more!<\/p>\n<p>Archives Month is a great opportunity to realize the importance of archives and learn about fun aspects of our history.
